Two days/one night walking and jeep riding
(The "Three Bridges" Trek)

Going through the Rakebat Canyon

Again we start through the Rakebat Canyon and shall be picked up by jeep to transfer towards the Barragh Canyon where we shall do some more walking. We shall spend the night either near to Barragh or towards Jebel Burdah.

This is a challenging and exciting programme, and you need to be in reasonably good condition and have a good head for heights

The Rakebat Canyon involves threading your way over cliffs, along a ledge and through narrow ravines, penetrating the heart of Jebel Um Ishrin to arrive on the other side. The mountain which appears to solid, turns out to be full of unexpected canyons.

The next morning we start with a climb to the Burdah Arch which is  a thousand meters above the sand.

To get up to the Arch is where you need the head for heights. Most of the way is not really difficult, just a bit at the end where we provide a rope to help you up.

We continue the hike in the afternoon through a very attractive narrow valley towards another rock bridge. You can climb this one as well if you wish, but it is much easier than Burdah.

Incidentally in 2006, this trip was selected by Royal Jordanian Airways as one of the five best adventure trips in Jordan - it even came in number two!

Price : for 2-4 people 135JD per person. This includes all meals and sleeping equipment and the guide for hiking and climbing to Burdah.

It does NOT include the entrance fee to Wadi Rum - see the introductory page.
