The T. E. Lawrence trek
10 Day Camel Trek in the far South
The Wadi Rum area is far, far bigger than most people expect. This trek takes you to the distance south eastern valleys which are largely uninhabited. This is the area that T. E. Lawrence passed through on his 3 day dash to cut the railway line at Mudawarra, which today is on the border of Saudi Arabia.
These valleys seem to stretch out endlessly, one running into the other and again into another. Here are the grazing grounds for the Wadi Rum Bedouin and you are likely to see many camels in these areas, especially in the spring. If it has rained during the winter, there may be hundreds and hundreds of them - it can be an astonishing sight! Many are brought from nearby Saudi Arabia to graze in the area.

We take this trek more sedately and don't go as far as Lawrence did. You would be alone with the camel guide, with a jeep meeting you at midday and in the evening with food and water. You should bring your own sleeping bag, we would supply mattresses.
The longer trek allows you to become fully used to riding a camel - it's not really very difficult and much easier than a horse.
We warn you that this is a long, difficult and expensive trip. We do not do it very often, only when we have a special request for it. These are invariably "private" trips and outsiders are unlikely to be able to participate.
Price : 1.150 JD/person for a minimum 2 people. This tour is not available for solo traveler.
