TOUR CONDITIONS
Here you can find some information and details about our tours:
The trips start and end officially at the Visitors' Centre, where you pay your entrance fee and collect any brochures and maps that you wish. Taxis and Petra bus can drop you off at the Resthouse in Wadi Rum village, 6 km after the Visitors Centre, where we usually meet our guests. This is about 6 kms from the village of Wadi Rum along the same road. There is a car park immediately beside the Resthouse and any cars left there are in perfect security. If you wish to return to the Visitors Centre we drive you there as well of course.
The prices include all meals, jeep transfers when stated and equipment for sleeping in the desert. If you'd like to spend the night in the desert - in the camp, in a cave or under the stars - we provide mattresses, blankets and pillows, but you should bring your own towels. There is no real need for you to bring sleeping bags but some people prefer to use their own ones. Concerning the means of payment we would like you to know that we do not ask for deposits and we are not set up to take credit cards, but would ask for payment in cash (Jordanian Dinars) when you are here. Please consider that there are no banks or ATM machines in the village of Wadi Rum! The prices don't include the entrance fee into Wadi Rum which is 5 JD/person. We provide you with mineral water over the whole day and the water at the camp which comes from the aquifer in Dissieh is very pure and you can use it for washing yourself and brushing your teeth.
We usually start off at 9.30 am and we ask you to be here between 9.00 and 9.15 am to be able to check into the Visitors Centre first. If you arrive with the early bus from Petra, it would be the easiest to meet you at the Rest House in Wadi Rum at 9.30 am. While you wait you can sit at the Rest House, perhaps have breakfast or stroll around nearby. Please be so kind and let us know if you will be late, and depending on the case we might have to charge you the Private Tour surcharge because of losses.
How to book: Feel free to go on our Contact page, where you can find some information and send us a message. You can send us an email as well. Please let us know your name, the number of people, how you will be coming to Wadi Rum, from where and at what time you plan to arrive. Your nationality is important as well, because the Visitors Centre will ask for that.
Nights are usually spent in our private camp, which is about 13 km from Rum Village. There are toilets to sit down and showers with cold and hot water. You can sleep inside the tent, just outside or a bit further away on the dune "under the stars", just as you wish. There are plenty of corners for some privacy.
Bivouacs are offered for 4 people minimum. We do not offer them for smaller groups because of the bad impact of this practice in the environment and the wild life, especially in the high season. If you wish to sleep under the stars this can always be done a little away from the camp, with our sleeping equipment. For 4 pax and more the extra charge for a night in bivouac is 40 JOD/person.
End of the tour: After a night in the desert, we bring you back to the village at around 8 am the next day or earlier if you wish. Trips lasting two or more days will usually end at about 4 pm on the last day. Day trips will also end around 4 pm. At this time we take you either to the camp for the night or back to the village, depending on the tour you are doing.
Solo traveler : we will try as much as possible to put you on a shared tour to reduce costs. This is only possible if you are on time (usually 9:15 AM). It doesn't make sense to book and extra night before your tours starts because this will prevent you from joining others as you will start from the camp and not from the village.
If we can't put you on a shared tour (this depends only on our booking status) or if you wish a private solo tour we will apply the solo traveler rates that are stated on this websites; Some of our tours, that require a lot of logistics or cover a lot of distance are not available for solo traveler unfortunately. Private bivouac into the wild are never available for solo traveler.
